First of all, why didn’t Buffalo Bill (D) just have TWO things of lotion? Why go through the whole rigamarole with the basket and the hose and whatnot, when you can just have two separate things of lotion? One lotion for the guest bathroom and a second lotion for the dungeon. No? It’s like an extra $5.00. Of course there’s the third option of not making a skin suit out of other people but that would be absurd. What if it gets cold or you need a skin suit?
Buffalo Bill (D)’s lotion strategy reminds me of the Democrat COVID strategy. Basically, 15 days to slow the spread (no that wasn’t Trump’s idea) was Democrats asking us to help them load their couch backwards into a van. Ever since then we have been trapped in the dungeon-well dealing with round after round of ‘why didn’t they just buy two things of lotion?’ horseshit.
First there was the lie about masks. The noble lie was that masks don’t work because they were trying to save them for hospitals. While this ground has been covered thoroughly, I have not heard a single person mention the most crucial point. This will require all caps.
HOSPITALS DO NOT BUY THEIR FUCKING MASKS AT THE GODDAM HARDWARE STORE THEY HAVE GIANT DISTRIBUTORS WHO DELIVER THEM IN BULK AND PEOPLE BUYING PAINTER’S MASKS AT HOME DEPOT HAS LITERALLY ZERO IMPACT ON THEIR SUPPLY LINES.
Do you understand? Why has no one ever mentioned this? We can argue all day about whether it is occasionally preferable and/or useful to tell a noble lie. But all of that is predicated on the notion that the lie is being told for a good reason. This was just a lie AND it was dumb.
Let’s fast forward past hairdressers getting arrested, and Andrew Cuomo ordering 700,000 more ventilators than needed, to now. Without getting stuck in the weeds, you are a dogshit human being if you are interested in forcing other people to get vaccinated for COVID. I think people should get vaccinated, but I do not care. In the same way that I would not care about drunk driving if I was able to vaccinate my own car against head-on collisions.
“Oh but I care about other people and I want them to be healthy.”
No you don’t. How overweight is your neighbor? Have you ever confronted them to wear their running shorts and then asked the Governor to fire them from their job if they don’t accept a calorie-intake microchip? No, you haven’t. Because you don’t actually care.
Hundreds of millions of deaths from poor diet and lack of exercise, which absolutely can be controlled by the government. But you don’t care. So you’ve never lobbied for it. Because there is no political victory in bossing around people who are overweight.
Democrats won’t even let us treat mentally ill drug addicts who are committing suicide in plain view because, to them, allegedly, that is freedom in their demented pagan collectivist ‘minds’.
If unvaccinated people were shitting on the sidewalk, and camping out under overpasses, and robbing convenience stores, and etc etc etc, and actually impacting daily life, then I would probably be in favor of forced vaccination. But they don’t impact daily life, and Democrats have been convinced that the unvaccinated impact their daily life by a mediocre and corrupt dementia patient……in case you’re wondering how sharp these people are.
I mention the "hospital workers weren't going to suffer a shortage of little blue face maxis because they don't use them" every single day.
My husband pointed out, playing devil's advocate, that it was maybe to stop regular people from rushing the market for N95s, nevermind that no one would be able to afford to wear 2-4 N95s every single day for 2 years or even use them properly.
But this is still spurious, because A) the vast majority of people couldn't access a bottomless supply even if they wanted to and B) as you pointed out, the supply chain is completely different, hospital suppliers wouldn't divert their trucks to CVS.
Here's another thing no one talks about when they talk about the "noble lie" which wasn't actually a lie.
The FOIA'd Fauci email where he effectively says "don't bother with a mask, it's a silly psychological prop that will maybe stop a drop or two but is mostly ineffective" is PRIVATE CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN HIM AND A COLLEAGUE. Not a public statement to be woven into "the official narrative." It was just two wolves talking completely straight to each other, and wasn't questioned.
That email has nothing at all to do with his public bullshit statement about a noble lie. Why do we never ever discuss that one, either?
