The oldest depictions of Jesus are from tombs carved before emperor Constantine and show Him with normal length hair and a clean-shaven, round, youthful face. He uses a wand to perform miracles so He looks like Harry Potter, sans glasses.
The long haired portraits appeared after the rise of monastic asceticism in the later half of 4C and in 5C
