First of all, I must tell you my new favorite thing in the world is Democrats comparing January 6th to 9/11. Why? Because it allows me to ask them
“Do you think Jan 6 was worse than George Floyd’s killing?”
Try it some time. Their brain snaps right in half. Or you can substitute the Tulsa Massacre or Emmett Till. Just find a way to put their desire to crap on Trump up against their desire to exploit black people and crap on America. It’s truly confounding for them.
Also, let me be clear; if you use the phrase ‘let me be clear’, I am praying that a bowling ball lands on your foot and this causes you to stumble face first into a barbecue and this causes you to flail backwards onto a cactus and this causes a flock of hungry owls to attack your groin.
STOP SAYING ‘let me be clear’ FFS GOOD GOD
That’s why I used a pic of Barack ‘let me be clear’ Obama, the number one offender with, and perhaps originator of, this dipshit catchphrase. The pic is from his John Lewis funeral speech where he basically squatted over the casket and took a dump while lying about…..wait for it…..elections.
I don’t know where this dumbass rhetorical tick came from but I can tell you that ‘let me be clear’ is always followed by something that is absolutely not clear at all.
For example
“Let me be clear; this was an attack on our democracy.”
Nobody knows what that means. Aside from the fact that this isn’t a democracy, even if it was…..what the fuck are you talking about? Was 9/11 an attack on our democracy? I mean if this is a democracy, that was definitely an attack…..
Is it just an attack near elected personnel that makes it an attack on our democracy? Was the congressional baseball shooting an attack on our democracy? I never heard that phrase used once after that event. Those people are elected. Was the JFK assassination an attack on our democracy? People voted for him so there’s a connection to democratic stuff.
I don’t know how to finish this other than to ask if anyone reading this knows what “attack on our democracy” means. Anyone?
I don’t even understand what the manipulative ploy is. Like when they talk about “the children” I get that they are trying to push buttons with women and simpletons. People like their children. Okay great. Do people like democracy? Seriously. Does the vague notion of democracy poll well? I understand people want to be able to vote but there’s no chance anyone felt their ability to vote was threatened by rioters at the Capitol. Please let me know if you have ideas as to what they are doing here. I’m stumped.
As I said ca. December 2020, people who said that Donald Trump was the worst threat to Democracy in our lifetime were soon going to learn that the previous four years were a walk in the park.
When leftists say "our democracy," they mean whatever helps the Democrats win elections and stay in power. It's not more complicated than that, and it's just as cynical as it sounds. If you read the Atlantic or the New York Times and just substitute "the Democrat Party" for each instance of "democracy" it all makes a lot more sense.
